Same, because when stories are kept dragging on, they feel boring and I quickly lose interest. The plot also gets lost somewhere. If the author wants to make a long story, the plot shouldn't feel like, "Oh, it's just keep going. Huh, when and how did this happen?" I personally feel like, people say stuff like that to express how much they loved the story and not actually want it to continue or something

I don’t normally have that much of an attachment to stories but if it’s something that’s been going for many many years of my life I feel a little empty when it ends. Like damn those characters grew up w me n shit. For me bnha and Arthur (the children’s tv show yes) ending lowkey destroyed me life just ain’t hitting the same w out no new Arthur eps coming out ngl.

I feel like those kinds of stories are outliers. They're kind of plotless and are just feel good short comic strips. Them not having an end in sight makes perfect sense. But the stories that have a plot with objectives and goals, ya know, those if they dont end after achieving the goal, and just keep adding more subplots, those are the ones that I think are pushing it. Like your example Lookism. Wasnt Daniel a bully victim turned hot and strong so he can fight against bullies and the system? I dropped it a long time ago but I've been seeing comments saying they dont even know where the story is going anymore. If your readers dunno where they're going with your story and your story was supposed to have an objective, then you've overstayed your welcome ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

When a story ended so god, and the way it wraps up, from the journey to then end, literally felt like a perfect bow, i reread it again and laments again. The second time is with this melancholic feeling know its goona end, but it also makes u feel good knowing it ends greatly. Esp when reading pirated here when some stories either gets horrible trans, or the chapters are missing, or it doesnt conclude cos they stop uploading. Im grateful, reread, laments that it ended. In a way it feels like i isekaid regressed in my own way

sameeee I have a bunch of on-going stories I'm interested and am waiting for them to complete too. I rarely read on-going stories unless I really like the plot, because then I just forget they exist during a long update break. I guess that may also explain why I dont have the "I never want this to end" thought? Its cuz I'm already used to starting a story that already ended so theres less expectation to keep seeing more updates.

For me it depends on what the story has given me. If a story has dragged out then when the end comes I'm mostly relieved lol but if they played on cool ideas and had more to give like implying a future cool fight or implying a wedding then I'm kinda sad but I move on quickly. For whatever reason the story ended there and I respect that
when stories end, I always see people go "noo, I don't want it to end!" Or "I can keep reading this forever! Donf end!"
How do yalls deal with endings? I personally appreciate when an author knows when to end their story. Even if I'm like titties hard in love with the story, I don't have attachment and can come to terms with it ending, so I can move along to the next story. This topic came up cuz I realized Punch Drunk Love is probably gonna end soon and I cannot wait (▰˘◡˘▰)
