This conflict is not only stupid but also poorly written because whose ADULT friends talk about your ex or comment on a hickey wtf. They're so OBVIOUSLY there to trigger a (bad) plotline. This used to be so good, I'm sad :( I don't know when or why they became so childish (also telling your sister that your boyfriend prefers bigger things when he was holding the cucumber, wtf)
