I know not confirming you're in a relationship doesn't make you more mature! I just feel like it fits into how their relationship is very laid back and like how it was just inevitably going to happen so they don't even talk about it. It just is!!
I love them because they feel so raw and genuine. The characters have great chemistry where you can tell they've come to like eachother but they're very mature and adult about it where they just decide individually that they're in a relationship without confirming to the other, they just know that they are. They don't cause a fuss or have a tantrum when they don't like something they either talk about it or decide that they can't be bothered and just leave to cool off. And when they do talk about it or when Shin figures it out he makes sure Jake knows he's angry but is never actually mad because he loves him! They're both flawed but they don't care that the other one is. They both just want a genuine relationship which was why shin was so angry because he felt like that's what he had and then lost. I love them!
