I like the idea/concept of how FL has to pretend as a boy and it's quite painful to see FL struggles from this pretense. She wants to find her mother and lived as a normal girl and be loved of who she is. I was even excited since ML got to know the truth before he left for war.
What I don't like in the story is how they skipped the whole war fiasco thing. You can feel the tension like the brewing for war and where peace was disturbed when ML dad was poisoned. However, where is my war action and the enemy 2nd prince? I was waiting for that or at least anything about FL during the war time. But NOOOO, we only got the 4 years timeskip and suddenly kingdom is winning, ML returning back and pursuing FL. We don't get too much about the Rebel Group action.
