I could only give advice based on my experience. This may not be applicable to you, but hopefully sharing this story can help^^
At school, I notice one of my classmates that really loves reading, like I see her reading books during breaks. So I decided to approach her and ask her what she was reading about. Then, I consistently talked to her during breaks until it became natural for us to be together.
So for me, I'd like to think I became friends with her because:
1. I approached her first with genuine curiousity about her interests.
2. I consistently talked to her that it became a routine for us to be with each other during breaks.
3. Our personalities were compatible and we had common interests which helped sustain our friendship, even outside school ^^

yess! You got this!! Making friends is actually a skill you can learn. It might feel awkward at first but you really need to put yourself out there. Sometimes, an extrovert might adopt you hehe that's how I made some of my friends. I got approached and they wanted to be friends with me ^^
Once you find the right person or people to be friends with, you would be comfortable being yourself around them ^^
How do people make friends ToT I just want to talk to someone about what I read but how does one find a friend for that you know (edit real life friends )
