Jitae only have Mieum by his side, really?

I know Jitae is pitiful, and maybe Mieum is the only one who truly loves him purely or whatever, but it’s not like Jitae is actually alone??? Even if no one loves him the way his mother or Mieum does, thanks to Jin, Jian, and Jung-Ah, Jitae has been able to stay healthy, free, and alive long enough to fight back against that wicked woman.

First of all, Jitae himself doesn’t even love those three, so why expect them to love him? When he was younger, he was only decent to Jian, and that’s why Jian cared about him enough to keep covering for him, right? As for Jin, sure, their relationship is mutually beneficial, but Jin has still helped Jitae a lot, giving him the chance to resist Suryeon in the first place. And Jung-Ah? It feels like everyone is just attacking her now, calling her out for “using” Jitae, but she did her job, she watched over him and made sure he survived in that household, just as she promised Soeun. The one she truly simped for was Soeun, not the son who treats her as coldly as a servant. And even if her reasons were selfish, she still did her job well, what else do you want her to do? Go and tell Jitae to live carefree, simp Mieum and ignore his mother dead?

I don’t blame Jitae, he’s not at fault here. But the issue is that the other characters are also not obligated to love him. The story makes it clear that Jitae doesn’t love anyone except Mieum, yet the people around him still support and help him in so many ways, only to have it all dismissed just because they don’t “truly love Jitae”? Seriously? Is Jitae really go this far with just Mieum love? I know people only care about the main characters and ignore how much the supporting ones have done for them, just because they had selfish reasons, all their help gets thrown away.
I also don’t understand why the author keeps emphasizing that Jitae only needs Mieum while still having other characters help him. It’s a bit frustrating.
