I think it's because Japanese people are usually short. Like 4.9-5.4 tall. That's why it is drawn like that. I'm Asian and the tallest girl in our class is 5.3. So I understand why they portrayed her like that.

I’m 4’11. When I’m with my friends (who range from 5’2 to 5’11— all girls), I never feel like they’re giants. I only really notice the difference when I see pictures of us side by side lol
