I personally hope you're wrong. I'd still read it , but I'd rather get some problematic twist of his past be unfolded adding some more complexity to his character and the decisions he's had to make/how the teach will react/ how they can reconcile with it all and change in the future together. I mean, in that kind of dystopian & apocalyptic world setting it's only to be expected that some unsavoury stuff are hiding.
Honestly I feel like you guys are misreading guwon. He seems like he’ll be a major green flag. Sure, some of the villagers act weird around him but he’s also kinda scary looking so that can account for it. And he does seem a bit off but I don’t think he will turn out to be a red flag.
