I think more people are upset at his friends than Ash. Ash did nothing wrong here... but his friends are so awful im so upset. Lyle was doing really good with his anxiety, but those people set him back a lot... i feel its realistic that something like this will trigger you. Imagine all your boyfriends friends thinking he should get back to his ex partner skshfjaja
Like the user Rave said, Nic is Ash's friend, but I think he was also Ash's ex-lover. If you read chapters 56 and 57, there are indications that they could have been ex-lovers. That's why Nic is the one who introduced Ash to Lyle, since he had a special relationship with Ash in the past and also knew Lyle through his fiance, Kyle (Lyle's little brother).

I think both of them should go to a therapist, since I'm afraid if Lyle can't get rid of his anxiety, he will get anxious again if someday Nic already gave birth to his and Kyle's baby, and Lyle sees Ash being happy to babysit the baby, when Ash clearly said that he didn't want to have a child in the first season of DTR
