given the personality of the MIL, I think covering up mc troublesome family is better than doing a pity-party damsel in distress drama. She's very noble and yes she will pity her but then that would paint mc as someone miserable and troublesome instead of a kind and flawless daughter in law. Tho the MIL is very intelligent, I feel that she can see thru the MIL I mean she brought up teasingly "You get along with Lady blah blah" when it's obvious the stepmom is just asskissing

I didn't pick up on the sarcasm from the MIL regarding her relationship between her and the stepmother. I can kinda see that now though.
I think she should be honest about her relationship with her stepmother and step-sister now. I think she just completely won over the mother with the art deal, so..... ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Come clean. That way they can't cause any trouble for her later. She knows they're going to try taking advantage of that family.
