This story reminds me of The Law if Ueki. They're very creative of how they use their powers. I'm very hyped for the incidents that lead to what was shown in the prologue chapter. And MC's power does seem very useless at first glance but i believe his power can grow. Like, it's said that superpowers are based on the user's wish r? And we don't know what exactly MC wished for when he got his powers. But what I've learnt from watching The Law of Ueki, is that the more ambiguous the power, the more potential it has.

Yes, it was one of my first animes and it's still in my top 20 list. It's good to see more people who have recognised and admired that underrated masterpiece.
My current theory is that his power came from not wanting someone to be forgotten (sincr he puts the small gift on a table with mourning(?) flowers), so maybe it'll be something like that?
