I feel so weird about this cause okay it’s the most basic ‘mc likes ml, but hesitates about confessing all the while he fluctuates on thinking ml likes him back or not (he does) and there’s also mc’s bestie that’s in love with mc but in the end steps aside” story

The mc’s poetic way of narration was nice to read, it was nice that there were no bad people like even the rejected girl wasn’t tryna do the typical “if I got rejected I want you to be rejected too” stuff

But like I can’t lie I was really seeing this going in the direction of mc looking back at the years of friendship with the bestie, seeing him as an option ,developing feelings and ending up with bestie in the end (even tho cover art is ml….) I’m just left weirdly sad about the bestie, him playing off his confession as a joke was just sad, even if he irritated me with all the meddling at first tryna keep mc back from ml when he himself had no hope or intention to confess … and it’s nice that it’s kinda teased that there was someone new that caught his eye and honestly I’d love to see the story of them, it’s almost always side couples outshining main couples in stories and I feel like it had the potential to do it here too but it was just left at teasing so IM SAD ABOUT THAT TOO

It’s like the main focus is the relatable inner thoughts of the mc in the process of teen love, cause otherwise as a couple there was no real chemistry or fun dynamic between mc and ml, they just simply…. Liked each other?
The dynamic of mc and bestie of being comfy and bickering was more of a fun read for a pairing..
