Well, you're not too far off, but it's explained in Chapter 27. Dohoon assumed he was a beta because he never had any symptoms of being an alpha. Hakyum does ask him if he was ever confirmed as a beta, but he said he was never confirmed, as he skipped the test day, and nothing had happened until now. So he assumes that Dohoon manifested late due to his own omega pheromones. Also Hakyum's dad is more of an asshole than I thought he was, you will see this in the later chapters. Some drama is also about to unfold so I wonder how Dohoon will react to it, this is as of the latest chapter that came out yesterday.
