it's kind of apparent that they messed up the power leveling in earlier chapters for the side characters. gotta justify labeling them an elite force for a massively OP Roman afterall.
now unfortunately, a story with little to no conflict is boring and it's a tight balance to keep when your series' main selling point is having an infallible, unbeatable protagonist.
their solution: nerf the side characters so we can queeze in some antagonists in the power levels somewhere between the subordinates and Roman. so the conflict can, once again, come from an OP MC persevering despite the inadequate man power and resources.
