i’ve played genshin impact, honkai star rail, wuthering waves, love and deepspace
just smth to take note with gacha games. they are ALL and i mean ALL full of fan service. make and female characters alike. and they are ALL designed to appeal someone, anyone, so that the company can get money. even if you’re not into a character someone else will.
why is this important? if you hate to see excessive female fan service, you will have a lot of complains about the games. because pretty much all popular gacha games except lnd target the male audience. there is a disproportionate amount of characters between male and female. even the designs, kit, and treatment between these two can be vastly different. so if you also lean more toward male characters, you will probably have a lot of complaints.
this is not to deter you away from gacha games, but it’s a fair warning. genshin JUST got a popular male character rerun for the first time, and it’s been months. genshin also has released only one five star (rarest type) in this entire patch. all the other five star characters are female. this patch genshin has been criticized for excessive female fan service as well. i’m not going to tell you what to believe as that’s up to you. overall this game is designed to be a money grabber, but it heavily caters toward the male audience.
honkai star rail has the same male to female ratio issues. male characters are also not as powerful, although this is a controversial topic. there is also less variation within the male category, such as having only one limited meta buffer. but the one thing we do know is that power creep is very real in this game. if you do not have the latest limited character you may find difficulty in clearing content. older characters may struggle. not only that, but it is more difficult to build characters to be strong enough compared to genshin.
i quit wuthering waves within a few days because it was laggy as hell and i was lacking storage, but it seems some players have an issue with the excessive female fan service (even more than genshin i would say) as well as the ratio between male and female characters.
i think you can see there is a pattern here.
love and deepspace is great, but many f2p and low spenders have an issue with the lack of free things to get what they want. out of the four i’ve listed this game is probably the most expensive. however, this game is highly praised for their visuals, stories, and features. it is an otome game.
if you like otome games i also recommend the ikemen series, though it is more story than gacha since gacha is heavily favored to those who spend money
out of all of these i enjoyed playing hsr the most despite my favorite character powecrept. i am currently playing genshin and have missed it. love and deepspace is also super good.
if you have any questions let me know. cheers !

Genshin Impact ! I've been playing for 4+ years and I still love it but also because I love the world building and the characters themselves. misterchan is pretty much right tho but Idk how I'm somehow the target of mostly every fanservice that Genshin gives...and ofc, fanservice isn't limited to "sneaky stuff." That's why it's a service for fans. Just depends what type of fan you are lol
I would advise not to engage in social media with lots of brain dead people tho hmm Twitter or TikTok. If you ever try it out, maybe the ones here who suggested GI can help haha
I’ve seen so many gacha games in media but I’ve never found any good apps. if anyone’s into that whatre your favorites? I really want to get into them
