you actually get to choose an option whether to send out a notification or not, so maybe ask the uploader to disable notif when uploading placeholder
If the last time you read the manga you click on the placeholder when the manga is updated again the last chapter before the placeholder would be grey out because it replace that placeholder you already click on. Maybe that's why you think there is no update
Remember we want those placeholders, they're there for a good reason (*Ā“ļ¾ā`*)
