how long is usually a long term hiatus?

It depends but most would be months 2-3

i could handle that tbh…but i’d rather the author be well than to have another situation where a manwha gets dropped so i wont complain

Since its a health related hiatus and not a fixed end of season hiatus it's hard to say it could be months or a year- worst case scenario the artist might drop it to focus on their health but because its a series and an adaptation it will probably be picked up by another artist

True, I remember there is one popular manhwa that got dropped coz the author died. Hoping this will not happen again
