skylar is the "he" ri-in asked about the guy cirrus wanted to be friends with and the guy was skylar. we see them talking about this conversation during the festival when ri-in said she wanted to meet skylar.
In chapter 38 Cirrus is in the math academy and says "he's not here?" then they tell him that he is training for a competition so Cirrus calls him and asks about the competition and they start talking about Skylar so the "he" was not Skylar. Skylar also doesn't go to the math academy with Cirrus. I mean it definitely makes sense that gorilla is Ri-in so maybe it was a typo
