jaewon (blonde) and seoin (black hair) are stepbrothers. the mother was pregnant with twins but lost one of them and was devastated. jaewon is the twin that survived. when the mom saw seoin at the orphanage who looks a lot like her birth son, jaewon, she adopted seoin out of emotional attachment for the twins she was supposed to have, so seoin was adopted as a replacement for jaewon’s twin.
jaewon resents yeongwoon because he lost to him in judo. seoin is taking advantage of jaewon’s newfound weakness by befriending yeongwoon. in present time, seoin has bleached his hair blonde. a good way to tell them apart is by their eye colour - jaewon has yellow eyes like his birth mom, while seoin has blue eyes.
i hope this clears all your confusion!

Hmm.. no: STEPBROTHER definition: 1. not your parents' son, but the son of a person that one of your parents has married 2.
He's none of that, he is adopted and has different parents, so that makes him his brother by affinity only. They are still brothers regardless since he was adopted into the family.

no miara! you’re right about this one :) since seoin was a complete outsider adopted into the family and is not related to jaewon’s mother or father at all, he’s an adopted sibling and referring to him as a step sibling would be incorrect who knew something i thought was simple could be so confusing? haha we learn something new everyday. i initially thought any child who wasn’t originally related would be referred to as step sibling!

Just going to leave this here cause I think we are all confused at this point, definition of stepbrother and half brothers:
A half-brother is someone who shares only one parent with you; either his mother or his father is your biological parent as well. Hence the term half-brother. A stepbrother, on the other hand, has no blood connection with either of your biological parents.
So, in a nutshell, a stepbrother has no blood connection with you, but a half-brother shares your bloodline with only one of your two parents. He is the child of your stepmother or stepfather from his or her previous relationship. The same distinction applies to your stepsister and your half-sister
Another example of a stepbrother could be an adopted son of your parents. So, for instance, if your parents adopted a child before they conceived you, will also make him your stepbrother, because there is no blood connection.

this is exactly what i originally thought! that any sibling who has zero blood relation would just be referred to as a step sibling, but apparently if we go by english definition, adoptive siblings would not be considered step siblings as they are legally recognized as a full sibling as much as a biological one. so, a step sibling is strictly related through marriage and referring to seoin as a step sibling would only be correct if he was the child of a father who married jaewon’s mother, making jaewon and seoin step siblings. but in this case, seoin is an adoptive sibling, or, just a sibling as he’s legally recognized as a full sibling in the family. phew.. you were right the first time!

Sorry but I’m not confused about this at all. You are wrong and I’m correcting you because of that. The original convo was step siblings and adopted siblings you are bringing half siblings into this for some reason but it is also something different. You cannot use adopted sibling and step sibling interchangeably that is my main point, they are not step brothers they are adopted brothers!
IM SO CONFUSED
So they are step brothers? Them both having moles on the face make it harder for me to distinguish . So lip and eye mole ML and eye mole is the stop bro (blond). But what does blond and bottom have. (/TДT)/
