anyways now we got introductions out of the way, let me explain the premise of rainbow city
SO BASICALLY,
It’s post apocalyptic setting in which a company had decided to release a virus to sell vaccines Turing everybody into a zombie. The virus started to mutate this rendering the vaccine useless and the world was declared for a state of emergency. As nations fell they banded together in over to stop the spread of the vaccine, creating what is the main setting of the story “rainbow city” in Seoul Korea which was a city mainly controlled by the government split into seven sections to meamsure the zombie or “Adam” rate, with green being the safest and red being the most dangerous as well as military bases to to train and raise soldiers and hiring researchers in order to develop newer vaccines, but the problem was that the virus kept mutating and have already mutated 7 times rendering all the vaccines useless and the story goes from there. The only place unaffected by the virus was JeJu Island which is where the protagonist, Dr.SeokHwa, came from. A 34 year old poker faced genius researcher with a weak body that isn’t strong enough to even run, and had a strong obsession with rocks (reason will be revealed later) who once had been to rainbow city with his mentor but had returned back to JeJu Island to live a peaceful life was now needed to research the new variant. So the city sent soldier “Major Kwak SuHwan” to get him off the Island as well as the job of being the doctor’s personal bodyguard because Major Kwak Suhwan, being the strongest man in Rainbow city, barged into the red zone late at night without warning and caused a shit ton of chaos, massacring Adams just to fuel his alcohol addiction and was now given 2 options. 1. Get Dr.Seok off JeJu island and be his guard or 2. Go to the guardhouse which was basically a detention center for soldiers. Major Kwak, having the most fuckboy personality and was still reluctant to do it, manages to convince Dr.Seok to go back. However, he soon figures out the reason. Dr.Seok’s old mentor had been murdered in the base. With that, Dr.Seok starts to research the death of his mentor and starts to find things in Rainbow City that is not what it seems. WITH MYSTERY, LATER ON ACTION AND OFC HIS SOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH MAJOR KWAK TURNS INTO THE SWEETEST THING.
the plot? scrumptious, no unnecessary misunderstanding, no love triangles, straight to the point plot with romance on the side. SLOW BURN BUT BURNS HARD AND I MEAN HARD.
Characters? extremely well written
we got our uke Dr.Seok who has a weak body due to a birth defeat and doesnt show much emotions because hes so weak even making expressions takes his energy away BUT hes still a very emotional person
we got F boy personality (but not f boy) ML Kwak suhwan who got a playful personality but is using it to hide something related to the plot and his past.
Major lee, our adorable female side character who is actually important to the plot and is CLUTCH despite not having enough screen time
major yang, our kind teddy bear but still can kill you in a single swoop and has a cunning side to him
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS IS SO WELL WRITTEN AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAVE PLOT SIGNIFICANCE.
The chemistry between the leads IS PURE, PURE GOLD. IT'S SO GOOD AND SO INTIMATE UGHHHHHHH
Like it's just that good, everything. it starts off slow then everything starts to unravel as the plot goes on, with plot twists at every turn.
like you think this is the plot BUT SIKE something else happens and destroys all your theories. I mean what else would you want from a bl????
It's absolutely worth it EVERY SINGLE WORD AND CHAPTER DOWN TO THE VERY LAST SENTENCE OF THE NOVEL SO READ.
