FL had people to turn to while even in his flashbacks we don't see him with any emotional support. And the only "support" he had was from his father where we can ascertain is just ad bad at expressing his emotions. The fact he didn't say I LOVE YOU od understandable. Like imagine being experience multiple loops at such a young age where your love is continously being denied and your feelings aren't taken seriously, I would behave how he behaved. But even the regret was beautifully heartbreaking. FL is also just as strong. Even after all she's been through she still wants to look after people around her even if it would continue the loop.
