So she doesn’t trust him. He eventually finds her and they get together. But it’s the stuff in between that so heart wrenching. The ML as well had a really traumatic childhood

He didn’t mistreat her. He’s more like the aloof type. For most of the novel, I wasn’t even sure he card at all. But then it slowly started. While he didn’t physically abuse her, he did corner her
