How much can a friend hate on your music taste before it’s not funny ?

That’s a shitty friend or at most something shitty your friend is doing no so called “friend” shits on another’s taste in music? Even if it’s not their kind of vibe and you shouldn’t stand for it either.
I don’t know how y’all do it? Just call it out

If i were you, i would just cut her off, if she didn't apologize and stop ridiculing your preference then it's better to find someone new ,yk , she's not the only one in this world.

Couple years ago, i was in love with kpop and i was lucky enough to have friends that didn't judge me and didn't think i was wierd for having boygroup posters and pictures all over my wall.. and you know what? That feels so good.. to talk to my friend about new album coming up without them judging me and actually seems happy for my stead..

i'm telling you this cause i want you to know that having the right friends is very important, you are important, your taste is what makes you, you.. if your friends can't accept your preference then they're not the one (づ￣ ³￣)づ

sorry, might be irrelevant, but how do they know what songs you listen to? cuz in my case, tho I share almost the same music taste with my friends, we don't really have any idea on what genre/artist each one of us listens to at the present unless we talk about it.

and if you feel like cutting them off wouldn't be easy or if your bond isn't one that you'd want to break, you could try talking to them about it. let them know how you feel. maybe these dismissive comments of them about your music taste is just a product of their lack of understanding.

also, there's nothing wrong with your choice of music. you are free to like what you like. though not everyone will appreciate it, that doesn't mean it's any less valid or meaningful to you(ㆁωㆁ)

If you really care about the friendship let her know how much it’s bothering you. She may not know how much it’s getting to you. If you speak up and she changes, it’s definitely a friendship worth keeping :)

Have you expressed to her directly that her actions are hurtful? Because if she's actually your friend, there is a good chance that she'll at least reduce that behavior if you have a heart-to-heart where you sincerely (and NOT argumentatively) express your feelings. Maybe she just thinks she's being playful or something and doesn't realize that shitting on your music taste regularly when you don't do the same to her is not okay.

Okay now that I've said my advice, I gotta say she has no taste. Midwest emo is an absolute bop and it's literally not just screaming. I also listen to metal and screamo, and I confidently believe that Midwest emo is more of raw/harsh vocals than screaming. And I'll take that over soulless, corporate mainstream music any day of the week.

Thats so weird i dont like kpop and i have friends who like kpop, even my own sister loves kpop and drags me to her concerts, but i gen dont care if someones music taste doesnt fit mine. Yelling at someone and making fun of their music taste for literally no fucking reason is stupid. I would say you should try talking to her abt it and if she refuses to stop treating you that way, you should drop her for your own benefit.
