Don’t worry, it’s not just you. I don’t know how they handled this part in the novel, but I’m also very disappointed in how the FL easily forgave them both in the manhwa— and the way the build up made it seem like there was something incredible sinister about both her parents, their past, their behavior towards their daughter and even their own relationship , and then it was just like… nothing??? Don’t know how else to feel about it, except to be disappointed.

Try to find the in depth spoilers from the LN and you will be surprised. Allegedly, the story diverged from the original plot around chapter 50.
For example: Illiana's mother is human. Her father is a demon, a dream demon. At some point, Mag locked up Illiana and took away her ability to see, hear, or speak. He was training her to become completely reliant on him. She would only regain her senses when in his presence. He wanted to break her. Her only escape was her dream abilities and, at some point, she reach out to her father and he saved her. Mag completely loses his shit and goes insane. I don't remember any mention of gods at all. I also don't remember anything about the two personas merging.
Is it just me but I kind of hate how the story is going rn. She easily forgave his father and mother just because they did it for her or "I was raised that way."
In the earlier chapters, i thought there would be a build up about how the father abuses her or how the mother wasn't there for her but it was all..shallow? It was easily resolved and the abuses that the she had for her father and fear that she had for her mother was easily vanished. I thought there would be a huge impact to her but it was kind of like "sorry, I was immature when I was younger, I didn't realized that all you did is for me." It became slightly a washed out story. Where was the flavor that it once had
