This is exactly what I'm talking about, the novel shows that Ail can't survive without Luce, but he still has a very haughty approach when taking back Luce.
Like you've had no problem being verbal and physical with the torture you inflicted on Luce, but are having trouble expressing how important he is to you? Yah he should have but he taken many arrows for luce to protect him even if it means to kill himself in process that didn't matter to him he just wanted luce breathing and living he cannot live without luce that he would even kill himself, although both of them are same if one day ail chose someone else he would kill ail and then himself he is possesive of ail too
