It’s hard to have empathy for current Mincheol and I understand he is human but he went out of his way to hurt and deceive haeso. Regardless if things would have been different for them and they had money, most likely he would have done the same. All the first love he had for her, went away and become something else. Granted they both didn’t have effect communication and that’s on both of them but as a married couple have respect and don’t cheat.
What you are doing is quite literally abuse apologia, you are literally implying her being "empty" is what caused him to be an abusive pos, when it's very obviously the other way around. His reckleckness put all the responsibility on her, where she's unable to breathe. He put a huge amount of debt on her name, but she forgave him & now is working hard to get rid of it meanwhile he's acting like a pathetic attention-starved bum, bcs she's doing both their parts, unable to understand that things are burning her out. Instead of worrying abt her working herself to death, he thinks the biggest problem abt this, is that she’s not giving him enough lively reactions & attention. Blaming her for seeing this reastically & not from a romantic lense just shows how immature he is. Not only that over years he clearly started to take her whole person & her staying for granted. He looks down on her, doesn't respect her in the slightest, doubts her love for him & holds her to ridiculous standards. Even he fell out of love, why didn't he just break up with her normally instead of tormenting her constantly? He insults her, manipulates her, takes advantage of her, lies to her, berates her etc. Bcs him hurting her is his way of taking ownership of her. They are past the point of reconciliation, he just hasn't realized that yet. Him being gone is making her being able to breathe again & it's the best thing that had happened to her in recent years. Now she's capable of changing & growing.
you’re literally fucking victim blaming at this point, if he wasn’t happy with her he should’ve sat her down and talked or left her like a normal person, not have taken her money, verbally abuse, belittle and cheat on her; it doesn’t matter what the situation was, haesoo did not deserve what he did
Why is this putting all the blame on Haesoo and Ari like Mincheol didn’t make these choices? This is such a strange take to blame the women for ALLOWING him to lie and cheat while giving him a pass for his upbringing. That’s not empathy you are showing, it’s excusing a toxic character.
honesty i have so much empathy in real life and for fictional characters
in my opinion mincheol is human.. he was given shitty odds in life from the start and after life beat him down to nothing he turned on his shell of a person wife who took everything he did and never fought back, mincheol craved human emotion from her he hated her and how she acted bc it intensified his hatred from himself. Shes empty, wether it is because of him or not she is she does whatever he says and wants and never fights back she submissive and boring almost insufferable and the way someone treats you will worsen with the more you are willing to take. he also did not go out of his way to cheat he was essentially seduced by a young lively woman who made him feel fresh and alive he is wrong for the affair but also not he is in a broken marriage that they both should have walked away from a long time ago but both hoped for a better future. I honestly believe that if mincheol got more money or a better position they would be happy. there are many moments in the manga when if you look past your anger and sadness for the mc you feel for him. Tbh if the ml didnt come into the picture and the mc forgave the cheating and still had her upgrade within herself and began living for herself they could have been happy. the flashback of mincheol and mc with their baby in the small home breaks me bc they both deserved it but sometimes life doesnt go the way we plan and we can loose ourself and what matters in the process. it will be hard for the mc to fully get over him bc they have love and chemistry that is real and in different conditions their love could thrive it is undeniable and mincheol will leave his mistress and not be able to get back his wife and probably loose his job and suffer and most will be happy but all i want is a different ended with them happy together. btw im aware that he is a pos that was mentally abusive and cheated on his parter as well as swindled her into covering his debt which is why i stated that my empathy is a bit much at times
