kang mincheol literally let his selfish desires consume him whole. his whole demeanor changing over time, symbolizes that. even in the flashback of them hunching for the first time, he was too selfish to stop when it got too much for her. early signs fr! and then mixed with the heavy debt he was in and the drinking.. but it’s like he’s a lost cause now, bcuz even with him constantly recalling memories of them, he doesn’t seem too bothered by them. there’s no sense of remorse is what i’m saying. like he literally said he wants her to cry for him more, how embarrassing especially now since she letting herself have that beautiful man!! my point is, it just shows how lost he is fr. i don’t feel bad whatsoever actually, but his character, so well developed, is literally lost in himself, still wanting to want. he thinks by getting with younger girls who express “emotion,” (literally just acting like themselves) he thinks he could find that love the mc brought him, just so he could feel again. when it’s really not the case. the writing is just epic imo.
