From what i remember, they will only give half of the research.. but harole doesnt know that, but he wil continue the research..
I think cale did that so that their country will not rapidly fall down to ruins because of their bad decisions

I have not read the webtoon yet but im rereading the novel rn. Cale made an incomplete copy of the research papers while the complete ones are with alberu. Cale doesn't want the whipper kingdom to become too powerful. Raon said it will take them 10 years or so to complete the research of these incomplete documents. The seed (the magic device storage for mana) Cale found was taken care by Raon. Raon grew it and Cale took another seed from the same plant. He then gave this seed to harol.
Tldr: Cale gave harol incomplete research papers and a seed. Cale gave the original complete research papers to alberu. The original seed found is now a plant and is in cale's territory.

The novel is still ongoing! It has over a thousand chapters now (≧∀≦) it's been amazing and I love everyone ಥ‿ಥ based from your comment, the webtoon is at chapter 121 or so in the novel... (￣∇￣")
Prefix this by stating I do have a frontal lobe brain injury so things do get jumbled sometimes.. BUT.. Did I miss the chapter where they explain what con their pulling exactly?? Did they replace the orginal documents with phony ones? I know their trying to hustle Harole, I’m just lost on how exactly.. I feel so dumb atm!!
