It wasn't without warning. He told Mo when he was leaving.. he just didn't have a definite return date, that's what made it angsty and why Mo was surprised when he returned. They both still care for the other, but yes, He Tian needs to grovel still

I think this is actually leading up to some conflict
My theory is He Tian left for a long time without warning and Mo moved on with his life, but still has feeling for him
I don't think Mo will exactly appreciate being strong armed into getting back into a relationship without an explanation or apologies
Like, I have a feeling it will make Mo sad (after making him his usual angry of course)
But He Tian is very good at groveling, so they'll probably make up right after
