Uhh..this literally almost feels like satire. Are you serious? Lol
Amy is LITERALLY a psychopath. She's mentally unable to feel the same levels of empathy or remorse as a "normal" person. Amy is traumatized and also more empathetic than the average person. At no point in the story is anyone supposed to be fooled into thinking this is a perfect healthy couple, and Amy outright states that it's a bad idea BECAUSE they're both mentally unwell.
But Amy isn't a victim, and she makes that extremely clear. She's fully aware of Bibi's selfishness, she's fully aware that Bibi is insane, that Bibi doesn't care about her at first and then that she doesn't realize her feelings for her. Amy literally outright states that she knows that Bibi is a dangerous person, BUT the whole point of the story is that two unwell people can still find happiness and learn to love in their own way .
Amy actively chooses to stay by Bibi's side only because she is genuinely head over heels for her and wants to, not because she was manipulated. It's actually one of the few things in her entire life that she chooses for herself.
It's not a picture perfect relationship by any means and there is a lot wrong in the beginning absolutely, but that's literally the point of the story and in the end they aren't an abusive ship at all.
Your comment and I'm sure the YouTube video you watched lacked any sense of media literacy and critical thinking, jesus.

I think that's the whole point of the comic, actually! It couldn't possibly be any more obvious that these two are mentally unstable, Amy does outright state it in the comic, doesn't she?
They're two mentally ill girls, and their relationship is by no means healthy, but it's not a relationship that's supposed to "heal" both of them, I think. It's more like a lifeline they hold on to while they get professional help (and they do! they went to a psychiatrist, remember?), and by the time the side stories kick around, I'd say they're pretty well off in life!
I wouldn't go so far as to call the relationship "abusive", because in no way is Amy a victim. If I had to be honest, Amy hurts herself more than Bibi could ever hurt her, which is saying something. And that's okay, because that's her entire character arc! Same goes for Bibi, she's narcissistic and arrogant and self-centered, but that's okay because that's her entire character arc.
This story in no way glorifies abuse or even depicts abuse in a positive light. All "abusive" traits of their relationship are very obviously considered problematic, things they should work over.
And they do! Especially that one panel where we see that Bibi finall buried Snowball? It was one of the best story beats in the entire comic, because it showed how far Bibi has really come.
I appreciate you attempting to educate young peope who might read this and consider it the pinnaclee of a relationship, but that's what the age rating is for, right? I'd reckin anyone old enough to read it will be old enough to figure out less-than-ideal parts of their relationship themselves :)
As much as i LOVE this gl, i just wanted to point out that amy x bibi is an abusive ship. There's a pretty good youtube video that goes more in depth about it if you're interested. Basically Bibi's ability to only consider what SHE wants as well as her psychopathic nature combined with Amy's clearly timid and traumatized self (as well as likely autism, my little headcanon) makes a pretty dangerous combo. I mean, just look at that one beach scene where bibi pushed amy into the water. Later bibi asks amy "why didnt you push me back?" And when amy responds with "because i know you wouldn't like it", bibi has this unsetteling smile on her face and says "thats right." I mean.... RED FLAGGGG!!!!
Anyways sorry for the paragraph, again i reccomend you watch the youtube video. Not posting this to hate, in fact i love this comic a lot!! Posting this to simply spread some awareness
