the whole point of the emperor hating rezef is that he’s not his actual son. his mother is cayena’s mother and his father is rafael’s father, who is cayena’s mother’s brother. sooooo he’s a product of incest. i think thats the main reason why the emperor keeps saying he doesnt deserve to live
I come back to this story every couple of months so my memory of the story is a blur and while that may be what happened, he still created the twisted 'Rezef' of the story through his actions and environment he made for the kids. Weakass scum emperor.

well we dont know if they were lovers too but i guess it is implied. theyre siblings and we know that the late empress bore a child from her affair(s) with her brother. i wish they delved more into this subplot in the manga but maybe they go more in depth in the novel
