A well written romance is just some icing and sprinkles, it can be taken off if you don't want the sweetness with minimum impact on story. I don't see how it could be 'forced'. Or is the issue that it's so rare to see m-f friendships in fiction, that you want to keep the trio platonic?
You could say that, and what I mean by being forced is that some people seems to take every of their interaction as romantic, and they are not even going to that route in the story
Yes we never know, maybe the author will make them together in the end, but every interaction I saw them is just cute and like a family instead of a romantic interest.
I don't hate them adding some romance in the story it's cute, but I just can't see azz X Clara in a romantic way.
