Actaon was just some opportunistic schmuck who agreed to marry Duke Maeve’s hidden daughter in exchange for the duke backing his claim as his family’s heir. He was bitter that the family was under his uncle who happened to be a dwarf, which Actaon was annoyingly judgmental about. Arrogant, and smug, he also had the nerve to feel superior to Leonello once he realized that while Leonello was marrying Eulique (a baron's daughter), Actaon himself was set to wed a duke’s daughter. Since she was older, all he had to do was wait for her to kick the bucket, then enjoy the full inheritance.

Nonetheless, that's still a bad way to go so rip :(
