Exactly. I hope it’s not affecting the author’s mental health because I heard people are sending her death threats as well. They are saying she’s hiding something because she is suing. I don’t get it. How can she hide anything when both manhwa can be easily accessed online? I believe it’s pretty common to sue for defamation in Korea because Kpop idols do it all the time and no, it’s not because they have something to hide
I’m seeing a lot of plagiarism accusations so I looked more into the issue. While the side by side comparisons don’t look that similar to me, especially knowing they were taken out of sequence, I can understand why people believe it. Reminder that you cannot plagiarize art style as art style cannot be copyrighted, though you can trace, but it’s clear that’s not what she has done. The addition of very common romance tropes and story beats makes this a little more difficult to know for sure, so I’m remaining on the fence.
Seeing Eunhi’s reaction to the other author is kind of weird too, she could have handled it wayyy better.
I enjoy this manwha, so it’ll be disappointing if it turns out Eunhi did plagiarize. I’m choosing to wait and see how the situation turns out before I decide for myself whether I believe it’s been plagiarized or not. Until then, I’m not reading this manwha. Which is a moot point anyway unless the investigation and stuff takes longer than season 2 does to come out because I read all of S1 before reading any of the comments.
On that note, time to reread the other author’s work
