so confused

Not sure why Ian is acting so indifferently. She never made it seem like she didn't appreciate his help or wanted it, but only said that it wasn't the right thing to do; she's a woman with principles, and she ended up in jail because she wanted to help his own sister in the first place. Therefore, I'm extremely confused about Ian's attitude in that scene; why wasn't he waiting for her release? He has NOTHING to say to her even though it's clear he was at some point hoping for a future together???? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Misunderstandings, maybe he thinks she had feelings for the fugitive and doesn't want to get in the way or feeling like he has no place in her life because of his trauma and the fact she went to jail helping his family.

Whatever it is he needs to figures himself out bcz mc did enough already

I mean, the first part of that, he'd be extremely stupid not to just ask her outright if she did, seeing as she clearly stated "it's the right thing to do," but I actually can buy the part of his trauma and feeling responsible since his family was involved. Yeah, I want the MC to thrive, so he better be the one wooing her this time ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

i agree. also when he went to go look for his sister in london, i thought the author was implying ml allied with the rebels too but in secret- since they greeted each other and briefly talked after the little brother took the sister away. with all this, i believed he was going to create a case where she stumbled upon the weapon!! but completely throwing him under the bus was strange, unless there was a plan to get him out of prison. however knowing why she did it (morals as well as protecting the sister), it’s hard to understand why he accepted her pushing him away and never fought for her like she did for him :/

mc is always working 100x harder to romance him despite her trauma and conflicting emotions. but she shuts him out one time majorly and it’s radio silence ????

IM SAYINNNNG. So real. Considering the growth he was doing after coming back from the war, I expected so much more from him. Hopefully it's not the mc doing all the work again in America

this!! im also hoping she’s more grounded in herself, and develops other interests or motivations!

i critiqued her character recently and called her the perfect image of a women under the patriarchy imo she’s a mary sue and has been a flat character, in terms of who she is outside her romantic interest/caring for others. it’s not that i don’t find kindness an admirable trait, but hers lacks complexity ╥﹏╥ so im begging the next arc to make her a bit more self-preserving
