I don’t know where you got the idea that this story is trying to paint mc as righteous or good at all, this is literally a revenge story Mc is trying to fix her household, that doesn’t mean she is tying to be a good person, it means she’s trying to get rid of her evil extended family. If anything the story truely paints her as fearsome and calculated (rashid even refers to her a cold lord) You might be misinterpreting the other admiring her strength as her being painting as a good person but theu honestly fear her strength and wish to become strong to continue to serve her. Like why she does some good deeds occasionally her focus is and always has been revenge while also trying to figure out how exactly her dad died. So yeah ofc she will mess around with them because this is her revenge so she want them to suffer just as much as she did. If you dislike revenge stories this honestly isn’t for you as that’s literally the main plot

I mean I think they are trying to paint her in a good light bc that is what happens like the group of people who is loyal to her as well as her halo like it’s not exactly subtle yes they fear her but they also respect and admire her for it which is a good light painting and then she’s still going to get her happy ending. It’s not that I dislike revenge stories I dislike hypocrisy
That was exactly what I was trying to say, the characters themselves see her as a good person because to them she was specifically their savior. The mc herself does not see herself as a good person because she herself knows exactly what she’s doing, it’s not hypocrisy it’s karma. The mc has never done anything bad to anyone who is not bad themselves. The depiction of her with a halo is not so the reader themselves views her as someone to revere, but depict how people who are saved can often view their benefactor as godly. I like that about this character, she is not ignorant, she does the things she does also because she knows no one else can really stop them or punish them for their crimes.
I genuinely think this story is hilarious not because of any actions done by any of the characters but simply because they’re trying to make us think that she is a noble and good character when she’s doing the exact same shit her family did in her first life like if I wanna support her in the second life, I would have to support her family in the first life because they’re doing the exact same shit like one of her family members causes a problem. She toys with them for a bit and then kill them like it’s exactly the same. And the story trys to make you feel bad for the dead dad but if he stepped his pussy up, they would not be having this issue. Like I don’t know maybe talk to your slibings especially if you see that they’re slipping a little with their sanity because all these siblings are fucking insane and I feel like anyone can see that they spend like 10 minutes with any of them
