So basically Tyrude's bloodline is cursed to always fall in love with the king's true Regas. So for this king, that would be MC who in his final form ends up being blonde with green eyes. It's not that he's in love with any man who meets those criteria, he won't be satisfied until he gets the real thing. That reveal and it's payoff doesn't happen for a long time though.

This, and the regas of Kara's Father seems to have the blonde haired and green-eyed features.
Plus it was a curse because they always poison/kill the royalty non stop
And since they always want the real thing, but can never have them since the real regas is belong and only love the king.. so they are driven mad and obsessed till the end of their life
