it might be just an asian culture thing? Ik many ppl who feel obligated to answer every single work call regardless how inconvenient it may be bc not answering can be seen as rude, esp to people in senior ranks. Even teachers get late night calls (I even received calls during midnight from students or parents) and are expected to answer by parents and the school alike. I think mc answering that way is already very bold and him standing his ground is already very transgressive in many strict asian hierarchical societies like korea or japan. I feel like I’m venting here, but sometimes even when I get massively disrespected by a parent or student, I just have to suck it in and smile and pretend I’m not hurt by it.
Ok but WHY fid he called her back in THAT moment. It was just ONE missed called and no twxt so it didn't seem urgent.sure a phone from her is a bit scary what she could do now but still not worth ot to do it in the middle of a important thing. I would only answer/call back someone right away even if I'm doing something important only if there were 10+ calls and a lot of messages or at least a messages saying urgent. I get his feeling bc it suck and she is the worst i just don't gwt calling her back at that moment makes no sense for me
