In the first chapter, when they captured him from the wild, they used a flash bang to disorient him and knock him out.
He's had trauma to flashing lights ever since. (Camera flash, thunder, anything that flashes suddenly especially if it's a white light. They show signs of his trauma throughout the story)
Why are they always scaring him? He’s gonna end up traumatized
