had so much potential

bro honestly with its plot it could've been so much better ngl but i see where it's going. like the mangaka talked about how them two gradually became the carbon copies of their parents, especially hyou becoming exactly like his father--the person he swore he despised and wouldn't become. the line "the abused becomes the abuser" always comes into mind in mangas like this, because unfortunately you can truly never escape from your trauma like the scene with young hyou talking and cursing at the present hyou.. personally it would've been a much better read (especially as i like psychological plots) if it was explored more. the repurcussions of hyou with the self-disgust, self-hatred, along with the inferiority complex of setsu like.. the brother complex (that turned reallyyyyyy incestuous) of the two would've also been explored in much more depth as it could be seen as a coping mechanism of the two from the death of their mother (to which they haven't been able to grieve over btw) and the abuse of their father. i'm not excusing hyou's actions in any way btw i do hope that he faces consequences for these bc ts is not okay i'm just saying that i definitely see why he resulted into being like that, even though going as to say that he doesn't want to, but then still resorting to it. basically this manga had so much potential but i feel like it's still lacking in some way which sucks but it was still a good read. (to clarify, it being a good read ≠ me enjoying or condoning what happened and the tropes inside the manga, it just means that the complexities of the story was intriguing to me, especially as plots like these hit close to home )
