Well to be fair she’s not the actual person, if she suddenly said “oh yeah I have no feelings for him” they’d think she’s lying for his attention or she’s mentally unwell. So honestly acting heartbroken is the only way she can be seen as moving on. They see her broken face and stop bringing him up immediately.
