The ml already said the president has changed this year, they're being hopeful and it is mc's personality being positive toward things, winning the award won't hurt them anyway
Winning won't hurt them but it's not like they can do anything to win, while not getting it would hurt so someone would need comfort.
But whatever if mc wants to reward ml for getting a reward and not comfort him for not getting a reward he can do whatever, I just think it's a braindead logic.
Wouldn't the logical thing to do is give him a gift if he doesn't get the award ? Since he is nominated specifically to hurt him by not having a real chance to get the award ?
"Someone is setting you up to fail every year but let me reward you if they don't this year" ? What kind of logic is that ?
