I read a summary somewhere that Lisbeth ends up dying but she protects Lister to the end. Apparently Lister had betrayed Slan back in the day, he was standing guard but let the traitors through and they poisoned Slan that drove him insane, killed his Uncle and father, and the Aunt took over. Lloyd was away on a mission and when he returned begged the Aunt to spare Slan in exchange for his arm (magician gave him a replacement demon arm). Lisbeth knew of Lister's betrayal but chose to hide it which is why she also offered to take Slan in, who is now mad/crazy/lost sense of self from the poison. She doesn't want Slan to regain his memory I'm guessing or Lister's betrayal will come to light so the treatment she provided wasn't complete. She also tells Lloyd to subdue to rebeillion which is why he was away for 2 years. Anyways after she died Lister locks Slan up in a tower, the magician saves him and Lloyd kills Lister.
