I agree with your sentiment on that this title feels unfinished. I’m sad Shizuno didn’t come out to his family either. I want to see the Koh (the side character) with his new boyfriend, happy and in a consensually open relationship like he wanted and I’m disappointed Kiumi’s traumatic experience of girls isn’t challenged later. I love these characters and I want to see more content of them so bad.
Although Shizuno avoiding attention isn’t directly linked to a specific event, I disagree with your dislike with his “restrictions” when Shizuno set boundaries. During the first chapter of the manga, Shizuno explains that he doesn’t want people to know of his sexuality because of the “negative attention.” My theory is: since Shizuno felt different from his family but they weren’t telling him why, he didn’t trust the people that were supposed to be the closest to him, causing him to feel isolated from his family, which extended to other people.
It’s clear that he mostly keeps to himself, and is selective with the people he trusts and becomes close to. I don’t feel like it needs to be explained directly, when throughout the series I see him consistently avoiding attention, and interacting with very few people.
Concerning Shizuno’s mother’s affair, I feel like it didn’t need to affect some other part of a story, when Shizuno really doesn’t care and only lets it affect the way he looks. I’m kind of interested in learning how his father and mother were affected by the rape and how it impacted their relationship, but the focus is the main couple anyway.
In conclusion, this was really fun to basically gush about how much I love this manga haha, im glad you brought up Shizuno not really having “reason” or one specific event that was the direct cause of his independence. This made me think more about he manga ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Hi, so fun to see your messages haha. I didn’t mean to say I dislike the restriction but more in a way to say that I like when things aren’t left hanging, just as you mentioned, how interesting would it be to have this girl trauma thing addressed?? I guess I have high standard bc we are bound to be left with something to wonder about anyway and that it’s hard to uncover everything but yeah. What you said about his personality and not trusting people easily and thus hiding what’s previous to him like what people can’t ruin if they don’t know about would make sense. But it wasn’t clear why to me at first, aside from just him saying I dislike it

(Idk why it cut my message) So I was just saying it would have benefited the story to explain a bit more. But yeah it’s just how some little thing could have been developed haha but I still enjoyed it very much and love how the author managed to make them endearing.. like I’m asking them to draw more of them actually, to uncover all those would be so interesting in another volume
Aside from how toxic it started and the childhood friend that’s very questionable by the rape scene but also what’s that relationship with the ML after all this.. i like how after this it was fluffy tho and all about communication and understanding the other one’s need. But I find it quite disappointing we didn’t get the family coming out part bc it seemed quite important? It feels lacking. And with all those restriction he is putting I would have liked a reason bc it wasn’t really mentioned. Like even with just one pannel explaining he doesn’t like public attention on him or something. And the family matter doesn’t seem to really have an importance on his characters, like it would have been maybe more interesting to use the fact that the mother cheated on his father for something in the story idk. I liked it but I just find some plot lacking here and there so it’s not perfect for me but the smut is gold!
