Yes yes it is. But you should be patient it is a long anime and old anime so most of the time first 25 ep might be not your taste but after that you pretty much inhale episodes very quickly at least that was for me. In gintama viewer isnt just a viewer. Characters always broke 4th wall and knows they are anime characters so they speak with the viewers. Also a lot of dick, shit +18 jokes and you need to now some classic animes and also japanese culture, language( a lot of word play ) and even history too. Bcz most of the characters are the parody of the real historical figures.( anime is set in late-edo period but mixed with sci-fi ) It is ok if you find a good translation bcz some translators explain the joke with translation notes so even if you dont know you can learn. Anime itself says that they dont know what this anime about and also even japanese viewers have hard time understand some jokes etc. It is a slice of life, comedy, episodic anime. Serious arcs only last 5 episodes most of the time but after sometime a lot of serious things happens and you miss funny episodes. They dont waste characters at all. The ccharacters you meet will become important at some point. And the real plot is actually divided so good between all those episodes. Some details so well hidden you are shocked when you realize how that detail used in the plot. It is my favorite anime it literally changed my taste in animes. Good plot, good characters, good music, perfect seiyuus and yeah that is why we call GOATAMA.
