Siyphus was a Greek king doomed to roll a rock up a hill only for it to roll back down before he got to the top. So I guess the title means eternally trying to achieve an impossible task.

(I wasn't sure if you actually wanted to know so ignore if not)

Sisyphus is from a greek myth. He cheated death and outsmarted zeus. As punishment, he was punished eternally to roll up a boulder up a steep hill, endlessly. Hounds could mean either the breed of dogs or an act of persistent chasing. There still isnt much to hypothesize right now based on its title. But one thing's for sure, a part of the story should reflect the absurdity of sisyphus life living in endless punishment.

To add: although sisyphus lives in endless punishment, his story was the building block of the Philosophy of the Absurd by Camus — which is to find meaning in living despite the absurdity of life.

Oh wow. I like this explanation too. Makes me curious about what happened to his neck now. Did he escape death, forced to live as punishment. Or is all of them that comes back like rolling the stone. Are the hounds all these people coming back to life. So curious. Not enough info from the story yet.

Oooh, nice. This certainly is an absurd situation.
