Honestly, I’m thinking it might be something closer to the first one because he doesn’t seem to have any difficulty gaining or retaining new knowledge? He actually seems to catch onto things pretty quickly. It’s just that he doesn’t know a lot of stuff and it was implied that nobody bothered to show him

does he have a developmental disability? genuinely curious as to whether he is naive because he was perhaps extremely isolated in his childhood or if he is high-functioning with special needs
