she doesn’t lose her memory but she wasn’t able to play piano with that hand anymore. even tho she got physical therapy and stuff. but later on she begins writing her own music and she writes it in a way where she can play it with only one hand

so the main story ends with them being friends. like they’re not even in a relationship. but the side story is about them dating and then getting married after heiner retires and comes to live with annette
