im still mad the author made byul dumb like??? i get that hyesung was not the brightest but c'mon let's acknowledge his specialty which is being a math wizard, also isn't dojin very smart too? he even teaches hyesung at some point. i love dumb MC's but that trope is getting exhausting, give my baby some justice.

I don't think he is dumb, just that until recently his focus is different that academics is on the back seat. I'm more curious what made him stop idol training.

I agree. Plus intelligent ML and MC would be so much more promising. It would have been awesome to see them in their full potential instead of Byul acting like a headless chicken during exams and begging people to teach him. I hate the geniusXdumb trope because the power dynamic is imbalanced.

He's not dumb tho he's naive and clearly a sheltered kid who until middle school didn't care abt school bc he was gonna be an idol and now it's suffering the consequences of both

Power dynamic is a broad term, you know that right? Do you think only adults have it? It shapes all types of relationships both romantic and/or social. It shows how people perceive themselves in a group and determines who is heard or who gets to set standards for 'normal' behavior. I'm pretty sure high schoolers are more than qualified to have it. In fact I think high school is a smorgasbord of "power dynamic" especially with their raging hormones, or in this particular case, their raging pheromones and second genders.
