The cousin/guardian thing seems to stem originally from when blonde alpha (uke) saves seme beta from his abusive father/drowning in basement and tells the ambulance medic he is his guardian, presumably because family only can stay with you in hospital / make decisions about your health in your behalf.
Following this it looks like the alpha feels responsible and protective over the seme since saving him and him being in a vulnerable situation as an orphan, so he takes him under his wing by providing him a place to live, credit card etc. Their relationship and living situation is kind of brotherly/parental (well, until they f*cked that is). So since they are close in age so I presume it was easier to say they were cousins to other people bc who does all that for a random roommate.
This is just my assumptions as there's not many chapters though
omg tyyy i got so confused there i was like no way am i reading incest, i dont remember anth about why the alpha felt close to the beta in particular in the first place, like whyd he decide to bear all responsibility all of a sudden for him were they close school friends or was he his babysitter? do u remember why
No worries:-) honestly. at first I was confused as hell but I could see other people being super certain it wasn't incest so I carried on reading! I think at one point I remember the seme or uke commenting people will realise they aren't cousins or something like that too which sort of confirmed they were not related.
It hasn't really explained why he felt he had to take responsibility later on but it looks like they were either neighbours or childhood friends? And I guess uke knew about the abuse with semes dad but couldn't do anything (as uke was also a child/maybe also in a bad position) and felt bad about being unable to help at the time. so later in life, when uke can help in a different way (money/shelter), he does? And seme clearly sees uke as a sort of saviour so maybe seme wanted to live up to that? This is totally just my thoughts though, they haven't really said why yet
